Spanning over 600 square feet and featuring 11 raised beds, the Blanton Garden is a vibrant space where students and the community can grow, learn, and connect. Thanks to the leadership of Ms. McIllwain and Mr. Persons, many teachers and classes help tend the garden during the school day, integrating it into learning across the curriculum. The PTA Garden Committee also organizes volunteer Garden Days throughout the year to keep the space thriving and beautiful.

The Blanton PTA is proud to fund our partnership with PEAS (Partners for Education, Agriculture, and Sustainability). PEAS outdoor education specialists work alongside our teachers to bring hands-on, outdoor lessons in science, math, health, and nutrition to life. Each session weaves in Social Emotional Learning, helping students build connections with each other and the natural world.  PEAS works specifically with 2nd grade students at Blanton.

We’re also grateful for the support of the Central Texas School Garden Network, which provides free compost, transplants, and seeds through their annual Spread the Harvest events.
